Któż jest tym sługą wiernym i roztropnym, którego pan ustanowił nad swoją służbą, żeby we właściwej porze rozdał jej żywność? Szczęśliwy ów sługa, którego pan, gdy wróci, zastanie przy tej czynności. Zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Postawi go nad całym swoim mieniem. Lecz jeśli taki zły sługa powie sobie w duszy: „Mój pan się ociąga z powrotem”, i zacznie bić swoje współsługi, i będzie jadł i pił z pijakami, to nadejdzie pan tego sługi w dniu, kiedy się nie spodziewa, i o godzinie, której nie zna. Każe surowo go ukarać i wyznaczy mu miejsce z obłudnikami. Tam będzie płacz i zgrzytanie zębów".

Nasyć nas, Panie, Twoim miłosierdziem. Obracasz w proch człowieka i mówisz: «Wracajcie, synowie ludzcy». Bo tysiąc lat w Twoich oczach jest jak wczorajszy dzień, który minął, albo straż nocna. Nasyć nas, Panie, Twoim miłosierdziem. Naucz nas liczyć dni nasze, byśmy zdobyli mądrość serca. Powróć, Panie, jak długo będziesz zwlekał? Bądź litościwy dla sług Twoich! Nasyć nas, Panie, Twoim miłosierdziem. Nasyć nas o świcie swoją łaską, abyśmy przez wszystkie dni nasze mogli się radować i cieszyć. Dobroć Pana, Boga naszego, niech będzie nad nami i wspieraj pracę rąk naszych, dzieło rąk naszych wspieraj! Nasyć nas, Panie, Twoim miłosierdziem.

Doznaliśmy dzięki wam, bracia, pociechy: przez wiarę waszą we wszelkiej potrzebie i w naszym ucisku. Teraz bowiem ożyliśmy, gdy wy trwacie w Panu. Jakież bowiem podziękowanie możemy za was złożyć Bogu za radość, którą odczuwamy z waszego powodu przed Bogiem naszym? Gorąco modlimy się we dnie i w nocy, abyśmy mogli osobiście was zobaczyć i dopełnić tego, czego brak waszej wierze. Drogę naszą do was niech utoruje sam Bóg, Ojciec nasz, i Pan nasz, Jezus! A Pan niech pomnoży was liczebnie i niech spotęguje miłość waszą nawzajem do siebie i do wszystkich, jaką i my mamy dla was; aby serca wasze utwierdzone zostały w nienagannej świętości wobec Boga, Ojca naszego, na przyjście Pana naszego, Jezusa, wraz ze wszystkimi Jego świętymi.

In quel tempo, Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: «Vegliate, perché non sapete in quale giorno il Signore vostro verrà. Davvero io vi dico: lo metterà a capo di tutti i suoi beni. Ma se quel servo malvagio dicesse in cuor suo: "Il mio padrone tarda", e cominciasse a percuotere i suoi compagni e a mangiare e a bere con gli ubriaconi, il padrone di quel servo arriverà un giorno in cui non se l'aspetta e a un'ora che non sa, lo punirà severamente e gli infliggerà la sorte che meritano gli ipocriti: là sarà pianto e stridore di denti».

Insegnaci a contare i nostri giorni e acquisteremo un cuore saggio. Ritorna, Signore: fino a quando? Abbi pietà dei tuoi servi! Saziaci, Signore, con il tuo amore. Saziaci al mattino con il tuo amore: esulteremo e gioiremo per tutti i nostri giorni. Sia su di noi la dolcezza del Signore, nostro Dio: rendi salda per noi l'opera delle nostre mani, l'opera delle nostre mani rendi salda. Saziaci, Signore, con il tuo amore.

Fratelli, in mezzo a tutte le nostre necessità e tribolazioni, ci sentiamo consolati a vostro riguardo, a motivo della vostra fede. Ora, sì, ci sentiamo rivivere, se rimanete saldi nel Signore. Quale ringraziamento possiamo rendere a Dio riguardo a voi, per tutta la gioia che proviamo a causa vostra davanti al nostro Dio, noi che con viva insistenza, notte e giorno, chiediamo di poter vedere il vostro volto e completare ciò che manca alla vostra fede? Voglia Dio stesso, Padre nostro, e il Signore nostro Gesù guidare il nostro cammino verso di voi! Il Signore vi faccia crescere e sovrabbondare nell'amore fra voi e verso tutti, come sovrabbonda il nostro per voi, per rendere saldi i vostri cuori e irreprensibili nella santità, davanti a Dio e Padre nostro, alla venuta del Signore nostro Gesù con tutti i suoi santi.

Cho nên anh em cũng vậy, anh em hãy sẵn sàng, vì chính giờ phút anh em không ngờ, thì Con Người sẽ đến. “Vậy thì ai là người đầy tớ trung tín và khôn ngoan mà ông chủ đã đặt lên coi sóc gia nhân, để cấp phát lương thực cho họ đúng giờ đúng lúc ? Phúc cho đầy tớ ấy nếu chủ về mà thấy anh ta đang làm như vậy. Thầy bảo thật anh em, ông sẽ đặt anh ta lên coi sóc tất cả tài sản của mình. Nhưng nếu tên đầy tớ xấu xa ấy nghĩ bụng : ‘Còn lâu chủ ta mới về’, thế rồi hắn bắt đầu đánh đập các đồng bạn, và chè chén với những bọn say sưa, chủ của tên đầy tớ ấy sẽ đến vào ngày hắn không chờ, vào giờ hắn không biết, và ông sẽ loại trừ hắn ra, bắt chung số phận với những tên đạo đức giả : ở đó, người ta sẽ phải khóc lóc nghiến răng.”

Lạy Chúa, xin cho đoàn con được no say tình Chúa, để ngày ngày được hớn hở vui ca. Chúa bắt phàm nhân trở về cát bụi, Ngài phán bảo : “Hỡi người trần thế, trở về cát bụi đi !” Ngàn năm Chúa kể là gì, tựa hôm qua đã qua đi mất rồi, khác nào một trống canh thôi ! Lạy Chúa, xin cho đoàn con được no say tình Chúa, để ngày ngày được hớn hở vui ca. Xin dạy chúng con đếm tháng ngày mình sống, ngõ hầu tâm trí được khôn ngoan. Lạy Chúa, xin trở lại ! Ngài đợi đến bao giờ ? Xin chạnh lòng thương xót những tôi tớ Ngài đây. Lạy Chúa, xin cho đoàn con được no say tình Chúa, để ngày ngày được hớn hở vui ca. Đêm ngày chúng tôi tha thiết nài xin Chúa cho được thấy mặt anh em và bổ túc những gì còn thiếu trong đức tin của anh em. Xin chính Thiên Chúa là Cha chúng ta, và xin Chúa chúng ta là Đức Giê-su san phẳng con đường dẫn chúng tôi đến với anh em. Xin Chúa cho tình thương của anh em đối với nhau và đối với mọi người ngày càng thêm đậm đà thắm thiết, cũng như tình thương của chúng tôi đối với anh em vậy. Như thế, Chúa sẽ cho anh em được bền tâm vững chí, được trở nên thánh thiện, không có gì đáng chê trách, trước nhan Thiên Chúa là Cha chúng ta, trong ngày Đức Giê-su, Chúa chúng ta, quang lâm cùng với các thánh của Người.

Mais si ce mauvais serviteur se dit en lui-même : “Mon maître tarde”, et s’il se met à frapper ses compagnons, s’il mange et boit avec les ivrognes, alors quand le maître viendra, le jour où son serviteur ne s’y attend pas et à l’heure qu’il ne connaît pas, il l’écartera et lui fera partager le sort des hypocrites ; là, il y aura des pleurs et des grincements de dents. »

Ravise-toi par égard pour tes serviteurs. Rassasie-nous de ton amour, Seigneur : nous serons dans la joie. Rassasie-nous de ton amour au matin, que nous passions nos jours dans la joie et les chants. Que vienne sur nous la douceur du Seigneur notre Dieu ! Consolide pour nous l’ouvrage de nos mains. Rassasie-nous de ton amour, Seigneur : nous serons dans la joie.

Frères, nous sommes réconfortés grâce à vous au milieu de toutes nos difficultés et de notre détresse, à cause de votre foi. Et maintenant nous revivons, puisque vous autres, vous tenez bon dans le Seigneur. Comment pourrions-nous assez rendre grâce à Dieu à votre sujet, pour toute la joie que nous avons à cause de vous devant notre Dieu ? Nous le prions avec ardeur, jour et nuit, pour que nous puissions revoir votre visage et compléter ce qui manque à votre foi. Que Dieu lui-même, notre Père, et que notre Seigneur Jésus nous tracent le chemin jusqu’à vous. Que le Seigneur vous donne, entre vous et à l’égard de tous les hommes, un amour de plus en plus intense et débordant, comme celui que nous avons pour vous. Et qu’ainsi il affermisse vos cœurs, les rendant irréprochables en sainteté devant Dieu notre Père, lors de la venue de notre Seigneur Jésus avec tous les saints. Amen.

Jesus said to his disciples: "Stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. We have been reassured about you, brothers and sisters, in our every distress and affliction, through your faith. For we now live, if you stand firm in the Lord. What thanksgiving, then, can we render to God for you, for all the joy we feel on your account before our God? Night and day we pray beyond measure to see you in person and to remedy the deficiencies of your faith. Now may God himself, our Father, and our Lord Jesus direct our way to you, and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we have for you, so as to strengthen your hearts, to be blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones. Amen.
